Privacy Policy

Keep This Day (“we”, “us”) at keepthisday.com is a wedding website builder. Couples (“hosts”) create a wedding website with RSVPs, a guest list and seating, and on the wedding day their guests share photos and messages on it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Your account: when a host signs in, we receive their email address, and with Google sign-in also their name and profile picture (see “Signing in with Google” below). We use this to create and identify the account.
  • Wedding details: the names, date, venue, schedule, story, travel tips, FAQs, photos and other content a host adds to their website.
  • Guest list and RSVPs: guest names and, if the host adds them, emails, phone numbers, groups, tables and seats. When guests RSVP they may add meal choices, dietary needs, a song request, plus-ones and a message.
  • Wedding day content: the photos, captions, drawings, voice notes and messages guests add on the day, with the name they enter.
  • Payment status: whether a wedding has been paid for. Stripe processes card and billing details; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage data: aggregated, privacy-friendly analytics (page views and performance) from our host, Vercel. It does not identify you. When a host creates a wedding, we also note which website first sent them to us and the page they landed on, so we know how couples find us.

How we use it

  • To run your wedding website, RSVPs, guest list, seating and wedding day features.
  • To send emails you ask for or expect: sign-in codes, a welcome email when you create a wedding, RSVP notifications to the couple, and emails a host chooses to send to their guests.
  • To process a wedding purchase and answer support requests.
  • To keep the service secure and working, and to improve it.

We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Signing in with Google

Hosts can sign in with their Google account. We ask Google only for your basic profile: your name, email address and profile picture (the “openid”, “email” and “profile” scopes). We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service.

  • How we use it: your email address identifies your Keep This Day account, links you to the weddings you own or co-host, and is where we send account emails such as RSVP notifications. Your name and picture may be shown to you while you are signed in.
  • Sharing: we do not share Google user data with anyone except our sign-in and database provider, Supabase, which stores your account for us. We never sell it or use it for ads.
  • Storage and protection: it is stored in our Supabase database, encrypted in transit, with access limited to running the service.
  • Retention and deletion: we keep it while your account exists. Email hello@keepthisday.com to delete your account and its data, and you can remove Keep This Day’s access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Keep This Day’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How it’s stored

Data is stored with these service providers, which process it for us only to run Keep This Day: Supabase (database, sign-in and account connections), Cloudflare R2 (photos and voice notes), Vercel (hosting and aggregated analytics), Resend (sending emails) and Stripe (payments). Data may be processed in Singapore, the United States and other countries where they operate. Access is restricted and traffic is encrypted in transit.

Sharing

We don’t sell your personal information. A published wedding website, and the photos and messages on it, can be seen by anyone with its link, by design. Guest emails, phone numbers and RSVP answers are visible only to the couple and the co-hosts they add. We share data with the providers above only as needed to run the service, or when the law requires it.

Using ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants

You can connect an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude to your Keep This Day account. You sign in to Keep This Day and approve the connection yourself, and you can turn it off at any time. This section explains what that connection does with your data.

  • What the assistant can read: the list of your wedding websites, their details (names, date, venue, schedule, info pages, RSVP form), and RSVP totals such as how many are attending. It cannot read guest names, emails or phone numbers.
  • What it can write: it can create a wedding website, change a website you ask it to change (including its trivia, favours and guestbook note, and which wedding-day sections are on), publish a website when you tell it to, and add guests to the guest list of a wedding on your account. It cannot delete weddings, remove guests, message your guests, take payments or see payment details.
  • Cover photos: if you give the assistant a link to a photo, or attach one in ChatGPT, we download that one image and store it as your wedding’s cover with our storage provider, like a cover you upload yourself.
  • Guest details: names, emails, phone numbers, tables and seats that you give an assistant to add are saved only in your own wedding’s guest list, where the guest list tools already keep them. We do not send them anywhere else, do not sell them, and do not use them to train AI models. Guest details are not repeated back in tool responses, and we do not put them in links or logs.
  • The assistant’s own service: anything you type into ChatGPT or Claude, including a guest list you paste there, is handled by that company under its own privacy policy. Share a guest list with an assistant only if you are comfortable with that, and only for people who would expect to be on your list.
  • Access: the connection uses a sign-in token that expires after an hour and renews only while you stay connected. Every request is checked against your account, and an assistant can only reach weddings you own or manage.
  • What we keep: the connection itself (which assistant you approved) is held by our sign-in provider until you remove it. We do not store the content of assistant requests. Our server logs record that a request happened and any error, not what was in it. Weddings and guests added through an assistant are kept like any other until you delete them or your account.
  • Deleting: remove guests in your dashboard, or email us to delete a wedding or your account and everything on it.

Sessions & retention

We use essential cookies to remember guest and host sessions, and local storage for preferences such as your selected region and quiz answers. Wedding gallery access lasts for the period shown at purchase. Media links can be shared by people who have them, so only upload content you have permission to share with the celebration. Contact us for permanent deletion requests; hiding a photo is not permanent deletion from storage.

Your choices

  • Guests can remove their own photos from the shared gallery. Hosts can restore hidden content.
  • Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us.
  • Hosts can hide or remove guest content from their event.

Children

Keep This Day is for adults planning a wedding. Hosts must be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, other than names a host or guest adds to a wedding.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell hosts by email about any important change.
